When Margaret Dillon formed Sherpa Consulting, she had a vision. The word “Sherpa” came to her, and she had a glimpse of God’s intention for her business. She knew she was supposed to help people and organizations grow, to travel “up the mountain.” Himalayan Sherpas typically carry the backpacks of their traveling companions and join them as a support and guide to the summits of the highest peaks in the world.
That is what Sherpa Consulting is here to do. Every organization, without exception, that has engaged with Margaret's team for at least six months has experienced tremendous growth. Through grant writing, coaching, or consulting, she is here to offer support and guidance.

Through her business, Sherpa Consulting, Margaret helps nonprofits grow their impact through grant writing/fundraising, consulting, and coaching. Just as a Himalayan sherpa carries the backpacks of their traveling companions, she joins her nonprofit and individual clients as a support and guide as they traverse some of the highest peaks imagined.
Margaret's career has also been shaped by her experience reading hundreds of federal grant applications as a federal reviewer for SAMHSA and CNCS. Through this experience, she learned that many nonprofits struggle to powerfully articulate who they are and why they do what they do. She has since taught hundreds of people how to create winning grant applications. She is a speaker/trainer for United Way chapters in Tennessee, the Tennessee Nonprofit Network and several national nonprofit organizations.
